Agree/disagree?

How is your
   thinking?

A Page From The Edward's Notebook
America hampered by stinking thinking  History
has shown that a nation is as good or strong as
the thinking of it's people. In addition, ones
thoughts and actions are often shaped by the
instruction he or she received. When, or if you
watch a typical network or local news-talk
program, almost all of the news anchors,
reporters, and talk show hosts are sympathetic
to leftist anti-American political, moral and
economic views. Seemingly, most talk show
hosts, reporters and news anchors are strongly
loyal to their leftist, liberal opinions even when
such dogma proves to be untrue and detrimental
to our Republic.  In addition, many political
office-holders willingly risk our national economic
security and way of life. For example, literally
many millions of jobs once available to
Americans are now performed by individuals in
other lands. That is because the American
governments oppressive taxing policies have
forced corporations to leave the United States.
Throw in the environmentalist inspired
regulations and the recipe for failure is full force.
Another disturbing aspect of this scenario how
more and more politicians seek office on
campaigns filled with promises to take care of
us. Such developments have evolved and
flourished because the thinking processes of far
to many Americans has been warped through
government school education, or better yet,
indoctrination. Why else would legions of
American voters willingly accept a socialist
graduated income tax, oppressive laws, as-well-
as government officials proclaiming to have
solutions to problems they created in the first
place? I also wonder if the United States is as
mighty as some proclaim her to be? For on one
hand there are those who rightfully express their
desire for less taxes to be taken out of their
paychecks.  Yet when a statesman like President
George W. Bush comes along and lowers the tax
rate, (which would stimulate the economy) so
many voters are convinced by Democratic party
and liberal Republican politicians that the
government deserves their wealth more that they
do. Such muddled thinking only leads to a weaker
economic situation. Speaking of muddled, or bad
thinking, It was the Democrats along with liberal
Republicans who have displayed their utter
disdain for "We The People". First and foremost,
they cringe and campaign against the ability of
us to take care of ourselves, which we could do
quite well if only we would be allowed to keep
more of what "We" earn. Even more horrifying is
the fact that liberals of all stripes work to
prevent you and I from defending ourselves
against street cretins and tyrants with the same
hateful vigor they have used to hobble President
Bush's efforts to defeat terrorism and it's many
sponsors. Such thinking is rapidly dismantling our
nations ability to remain prosperous and even
defend ourselves. Our enemies know this and are
acting accordingly.  Even some so-called
conservatives are guilty of not supporting the
whole picture. Here we have National Security
Advisor Donald Rumsfeld who on one hand
pushes for taking actions against terrorist and
other enemies of our Republic, yet he thwarted
the efforts of President Bush to increase the size
of  our military. Such thinking is dangerous
because, along with terrorists, China is building a
massive army and has threatened to one day use
it against us.  Moreover, Western Europe has for
the most part turned against us and may soon
pose a major military threat. The reason Western
Europe will flex it's growing political and military
muscle against us is because of the wrongheaded
decision of former President Clinton to encourage
Germany to take the lone leadership role of the
E. U. Now that the German genie is out of the
bottle, a resurrecting militaristic Germany now
often works quietly against American interests
around the world. It is obvious that Mr. Clinton's
instructors during his youth neglected to teach
him about history and the weakening
consequences of wrong thinking and decisions. P
Although the liberal elitists in the media won't
tell you, one of the major factors of the recent
economic slump is the record breaking taxes
levied against us by former President Clinton. In
addition, the continual piling on of government
regulations of all sorts are taking their negative
toll on the economy. Unfortunately, far to many
of our fellow countrymen (uh) countrypersons
don't realize that such actions like massive tax
increases don't come into full effect until years
after the enactment, so here we are. How
unfortunate is the decline in the level of thinking
amongst the people of what was once the envy
of the world. Even Liberals of the past like
President John F. Kennedy understood that a
lessening of the tax burden would be a lift to the
economy and fought to bring about such a
condition during his reign. He knew that with
lower taxes the economy could be more
prosperous and render more private sector
opportunities such as more jobs and business
growth.  It is also this writers contention that in
order for America to be great nation again, she
must strive to be a good nation. But that cannot
happen until the teaching of good principles and
true historical perspectives are once again the
norm, producing betting thinking and actions. I
applaud the decency displayed by our current
president George W. Bush who has made
references for the need for prayer for the nation
and to seek God's guidance. Such wisdom has
proved beneficial in the past. Let us hope that is
is not too little to late. On a soon to come Page
from the Edward's Notebook we'll take a more in
depth look at the need for us to learn the law of
history. As Sir Winston Churchill once said. " if
we flout those historic virtues of history our
nations are "doomed to decay and dissolution." #
